There are many types of business ventures a person may try to take on. One is starting a new business in another country. For example, a Greek American entrepreneur may desire to start up a company in Greece.
Starting a business, on its own, can have a fair amount of challenges connected with it. When the business in question will be in another country, a lot of additional challenging aspects could come up. For example, when a Greek American is starting a business in Greece, various complicated issues related to things like Greek business laws, Greek tax laws and European Union laws on businesses could arise in relation to their startup. Skilled U.S-Greek business law attorneys can provide Greek American entrepreneurs with guidance on the unique legal matters related to starting a business in Greece.
There are many different fields a new business in Greece could be in. Which field has been seeing the most startups coming up in it in Greece in recent times?
A recent study looked into this. The study reviewed data on new business registrations in Greece covering the January 2016 to November 2016 period. In this data review, the study looked at what fields new businesses came into over that period. It also looked into how the new business levels in different fields over this period compared to the levels in 2012.
The study found that the field that saw the most new business registrations in Greece between January and November 2016 was the bars/catering/food-retail/restaurants field. Over this period, 5,613 new businesses came up in this field. This is over 2,000 more new businesses than the next closest field (retail).
However, even though it was the top field for new businesses in Greece in 2016, new businesses were down quite a bit in the bars/catering/food-retail/restaurants field that year as compared to 2012.
Which field saw the most growth in annual new business totals between 2012 and 2016 in Greece? According to the study, it was the tourism field, with a 31 percent increase.
One wonders what 2017 will end up seeing when it comes to new businesses in Greece?
